International Private Students: Where Do They Come From? They come from China, HongKong, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan. The majority of these students live with Australian host families but some live independently ( with a friend or in a group house or flat) near the college. Although studying in a foreign country is extremely challenging, these students have the support of an International Student Co-ordinator / English as a Second Language teacher within the school. As well as studying English as a Second Language they are offered individual or small group tutorial time, each week. This English (T) course may be counted as one of the subjects for a University Admissions Index (tertiary entrance). The International Students form strong bonds with their class-mates and also make friends with native English speakers through their other classes. We warmly welcome all new International Private Students and help them to achieve entry to post-secondary courses (Australian Universities and Institutes of Technology)
Exchange Students:
Lake Ginninderra College hosts exchange students from all points of the globe. We recently had a number of chinese students and teachers visit from Shanghai.
