LakeFEST brings UCSSC Lake Ginninderra students together for a day of connection, creativity and wellbeing.
Students and staff came together for LakeFEST 2026, the college’s annual whole-school celebration focused on connection, belonging and community.
The event provided students with the opportunity to try new experiences, share ideas, build confidence and strengthen relationships beyond the classroom. It also served as an important opportunity to acknowledge R U OK? Day, encouraging students and staff to check in with one another and support meaningful connections across the school community.
One of the highlights of the day was LakeIDOL, where students and staff band, ‘Pineapple Crush’ showcased their talents in front of an excitable crowd. From musical performances to an entertaining circus act, the event celebrated the diverse creativity and skills within the college community.
A wide range of activities were on offer throughout the day, including guest speakers (International Relations panel, Enterprise and Industry business owners and Red Shed rowing), a wellbeing expo, LegoMasters, a clothing swap op shop, forensic science activities and the ever-popular Spelling Bee. Students and staff also enjoyed a community BBQ lunch, with the Café 87 van adding to the festive atmosphere.
LakeFEST continues to be a valued tradition at UC Lake Ginninderra College, fostering a strong sense of belonging while celebrating the unique talents, interests and wellbeing of its students and staff.
