Learning Support Unit (LSU)

UCSSC Lake Ginninderra has a Learning Support Unit (LSU) to cater for college aged students in the Belconnen area. The LSU is a unique learning space tailored to the specific needs of students enrolled in the program. The area encompasses a classroom with breakout spaces, garden, ICT area and outdoor area. Experienced staff within the LSU work to promote life long learning and provide opportunities to students outside the typical curriculum framework. Students have the opportunity to access work experience in a range of areas related to student needs and interests. Student programs are catered toward individual learning needs, with some students attending mainstream classes in areas where they have interest or strengths.

Students in the LSU participate in Modified Curriculum units for English, Mathematics, Food Technology, Art and Pathways. The program is aligned with the college timetable which has allowed students to participate across the college in units from Media, Drama, Information Technology and Physical Education.
